I have been working heaps, training for roller derby and doing other side projects. Also my phone is break and only saving half of my pictures which is really odd.

Okay so I am writing about things I love for this season of winter because it’s cold and there is so much nice stuff out there in the shops at the moment.

Things I love for this season…

-Colour! Asos, sportgirls, glassons, urban outfitter and myers have been rocking out in the really bright colours at the moment and especially yellows! I have bought a rocking asos t shirt in mustard yellow from asos, a bright yellow blousey shirt from urban outfitter ages ago (but waiting for the season to warm up a bit before wearing it) and a bright yellow mini skirt from glassons.

-Lipsticks! I love wearing overcoats but alas they are not crazy bright and colourful and I look a bit bland in them. To brighten myself up I have been wearing lipsticks. I have been wearing a bright coral pink and a baby pink matte lipstick just so it’s not crazy over the top but enough so I look a bit nicer.

- FLATFORMS! I cannot wear heels because I look like I am having my last ever walk when I wear them and heels do not look awesome if you can’t walk in them. I have bought a lovely cheap and comfy pair of flatforms from glassons. They come in black or camel colour and they look really nice on. Flatforms are a bit hard to find but there are some on the urban outfitter website if you are happy to pay expensive postage or asos. the new old coat didn’t really work out. so i have decided not to post it.

i am currently trying out a new mascara which i’ll review in the next couple of days after i’ve given it a proper test.

Foundation and primer part 2!

Just a short post… I said in my last post that I would see how well the primer and foundation would stay on in a night out and….

Success! I went out with the primer and foundation on… Did a bit of drinking… Did a bit of salsa…. Attempted to plank and it did not come off! Flawless skin all night long!

I am a huge novice to make up and have decided to try out foundation and primer. I am using Rimmel Fix and Perfect and Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Foundation and press powder.

My skin is combination skin with my t zone being a bit oily at times and my cheeks are normal. I have tried foundation when I was younger however it made my nose area really oily and shiney.

Reasons for trying it out again…..

I thought I would try it again since my ex housemates always had flawless make up when they went out and I was a bit envious of that. If I were to go out with them my make up would always look nice to start but after a few drinks my face turned bright red and eye make up would be rubbed off somehow and I started to look really old.

At my old place of work I sometimes had to look presentable and wear make up, however I needed to re apply over and over again throughout the day which I could never be bothered and didn’t have the time.

Apparently primer is the way to go for all my issues. It apparently keeps foundation set, eye make not rub off, doesn’t need retouching throughout the day and it also absorbs oils so it not shiny.

So today I tested both products which was good because I had huge bags and looked absolutely shit due to not sleeping because of the storms going around Sydney and a 4.30am wake up for work. Also today would not have a chance to retouch anything up.

-First challenge was to figure out how to put on make up whilst I am half asleep. I was surprisingly successful since it was really easy to use. I did however do my research beforehand applying the primer and apparently a little means more and this was the same with the foundation (it was as easy as applying moisturiser). I was surprised with the colour of the primer, it was an orange tint however it didn’t make my face orange. Apparently most primers are whiteish or clear. Also it made my skin feel soooooooo smooth and dreamy.

- At work… It lasted! i rubbed my face and my eyes and it stayed put. Also I did a bit of a run today and my face which normal turns bright red was hidden by the foundation however it didn’t look like a had make up caked on my face or any make up on to be honest.

-At home… It was really easy to wash off! I really dislike having to spend time washing my make up off, however it was really easy.

-And finally I have no break outs from the make up :D

I am having a night out on thursday so I will try it out again.

So far I am really impressed and it wasn’t expensive either which i love. I highly recommend it if anyone is trying a primer and foundation. Does anyone have any other recommendations? tips, tricks? Better products? Anyway, let me know if you guys do.

Okay.. So I have always been a fan of benefit make up. The cute retro packaging and catalogues drew me in and I have been really lucky to find a lovely concealer called bo-ing. So since I use there concealer regularly, I tried out there big brown eyes make up kit which was also amazing. My only problem so far with benefit make up is the ‘you rebel’ light moisturiser. I was in Myer and talking to the benefit girls that swore by ‘you rebel’ so I decided to try it. They were like “Oh my god! It is soooo amazing!” They were scarily in a benefit ‘you rebel’ cult or something and if Australia had a proper sorority like in the movies, these girls would be in it.

My skin turned greasy I had to use a powdered foundation after applying and then by the middle of the day my skin turned so oily i had to continuously wipe of the excess build up! But worst of all, I started getting pimples. I’m 23 and probably could could the amount of pimples I’ve had in my life time in one hand. However, it has probably doubled due to the use of this moisturiser. Honestly I feel for girls that have pimples anyway, how on earth can this use this product?! Oh and the package is shit, with the metal tubing getting pierced so easily and moisturiser slowly leaking in my make up bag.

If anyone has a different opinion on this product, do let me know… also let me know your skin type and age etc..

Anyway, I have bought an el cheapo Nivea Daily Essentials Oily and Combination Skin moisturiser and some Nivea eye cream and I am going to give that a go. Will review it later on.

I honestly don’t know if moisturiser is any good for your skin or if it just is really excellence marketing, since I never used it before until February this year and I have always had lovely skin that may bit a bit oily around the t zone.

However, I am sure when I am old and start to wrinkle up I will be cursing myself for not moisturiser, hence giving it a go now. Does anyone else have a different opinion on this or agree?

Anyway let me know, I would love to hear from people. This is a brand new blog for me and would love to have people read this. Possibly.
